Research Integrity, Science and Publication Ethics under discussion

University will host the 5th BRISPE on Oct 25-26

BrispePUCRS will be hosting the 5th Brazilian Meeting on Research Integrity, Science and Publication Ethics (BRISPE) on Oct 25 – 26. The theme “Research Integrity and The Reliability of the Research Record: The Role of Graduate Programs” will guide the discussions and actions that can strengthen the reliability and quality of Brazilian science in all research fields involving graduate students and their mentors. Researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, policymakers and research funders will form the core audience of the event.

The program consists of lectures, panels and workshop on Ethical writing and the responsible research communication, by Miguel Roig, from St. John’s University. The second session of the workshop will bring Ivan Oransky, from Retraction Watch & New York University, to discuss the reliability of the research record, post-publication peer-review and literature review.

The deadline for submission is Jul 23. Applicants must submit their abstracts to [email protected]. The organizing committee of 5th Brispe features three PUCRS professors: Dr Bartira Costa, Dr Denise Cantarelli Machado and the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies (Propesq), Dr Carla Denise Bonan, who serves as president.
