Event occurs on Aug 16, at 7:30 PM at the auditorium of Goethe-Institut
On Aug 16, at 7:30 PM, the Graduate Program in Philosophy of PUCRS and the University’s Research Group Images of Thought, will be promoting the preparatory event Walter Benjamin and melancholy, delivered by Mrs Manuela Mattos and PUCRS professor Dr Ricardo Timm de Souza. The event will occur at the auditorium of Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre.

The first preparatory meeting, held in May, featured Dr Marcos Messerschmidt, from the School of Humanities of PUCRS, and Dr Kelvin Falcão Klein, from Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. In June, the workshop was delivered by Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel) professor, Dr Helano Ribeiro, and by Dr Alexandre Pandolfo. About the Congress
The 1st International Congress Walter Benjamin: Barbarism and ethical memory occurs from Sep 26 – 28, 2018 at the auditorium of building 40 on the Main Campus Campus (avenida Ipiranga, 6681 – Porto Alegre). The goal is to provide researchers and enthusiasts on the work of the Berliner philosopher with an opportunity for discussions in favor of a contemporary philosophy. The complete program and registrations will be available in the second half of July.
