1st International Congress of Portuguese Language Studies to occur on Nov 19-20
The School of Humanities, in partnership with the Graduate programs in Letters and History will be promoting the 1º Encontro Internacional de Lusofonia (1st International Congress of Portuguese Language Studies) on Nov 19-20. The event will be held at Irmão Elvo Clemente auditorium (room 305 of building 8) and is being offered to enthusiasts of the arts, language and histories of Portuguese-speaking countries.
The congress will seek to discuss language and cultural traits that are shared by the speakers of Portuguese in several countries. It will also be advancing a new approach to contemporary Portuguese-language studies as it will look at the many varieties of the language that are spoken. As the language is used in a multitude of contexts, we can see new forms of interaction.
