In celebration of the Semana Farroupilha, a week dedicated to local traditions in all cities of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the Office for International Cooperation has planned special activities for academic mobility students at PUCRS. A tour to Centro de Tradições Gaúchas (CTG) Aldeia dos Anjos, in the city of Gravataí, for a cultural dinner and presentation of local dances, is scheduled for Sep 18. The state of Rio Grande do Sul celebrates its most popular festivity from Sep 14 – 20. That week commemorates the Revolução Farroupilha, on Sep 20, 1835. It was the longest revolution in Brazil. It lasted for ten years and had freedom, equality and humanity as its ideals.
