coronavirus - english_formato970x550 cópia2Since the rapid increase in the number of Covid-19 cases all over the world and the first cases in Brazil, the University has taken immediate actions to prevent contamination and has assembled an exclusive interdisciplinary committee to monitor the spread of the disease. This committee comprises professionals specialized in infectious diseases from the University and São Lucas Hospital.

As of the morning of Mar 12, four cases have been confirmed in Rio Grande do Sul, two of which in Porto Alegre – incluidng a PUCRS student. PUCRS has confirmed the information that has been officially released by the State Department of Health. The institution guarantees that the student has been in isolation since her return from a trip, had no contact with other people and did not come to Campus.

It is essential to reinforce preventive measures, which are the most efficient way to avoid contamination. The most important measure of prevention to be taken is to wash your hands frequently with water, soap and hand sanitizer, and close your mouth when coughing or sneezing.
