2019_06_11_edimara_luciano_colombia(arquivo_pessoal)3Business School Professor Dr Edimara Mezzomo Luciano participated in a number of workshops on smart and sustainable cities in Bogotá and Medellín, Colombia from May 13-15. The event was offered in support of the project Strengthening Governance Capacity for Smart Sustainable Cities, CAP4CITY, which is funded by Erasmus+ Capacity Building.

Along with 11 other partner institutions from 7 countries, the institution’s Business School will design and implement an 80-hour MOOC (massive open online course) on smart and sustainable cities. The purpose of the event in Colombia was to identify competences for the development of projects and discuss good practices.

2019_06_11_edimara_luciano_colombia(arquivo_pessoal)2The event also validated the workshop methodology that will be used in other Latin American countries. “We tried to connect with local specialists to find out about the knowledge and competences that are needed to produce smart and sustainable cities and which teaching methodologies must be used to achieve these competences. These insights will be used in classroom, in the training programs that will be delivered over the course of the project, in order to develop these projects”, Edimara says.

The next workshop will take place at PUCRS, on Aug 19, and will feature researchers, public agents and professionals from public and private companies interested in the area.
